Lack of sleep can also make you ‘insensitive and selfish’

A recent study shows that while lack of sleep causes mental and physical problems.

It also affects human behavior and especially emotions such as helping others or feeling the pain of others.

According to the research published in the scientific journal Plus Biology. Calm and quality sleep is not only related to human physical and mental health, but also affects social life.

Experts review three different studies to examine the link between sleep and ‘numbness’. Including one study that involve MRI scans of people’s brains.

In a study, experts review data on donations made in US states between 2001 and 2016. In this data they also look at the personal information of individuals who made donations.

During the second study, experts divide the volunteers into two different groups and perform MRI scans of their brains.

Experts includes people who slept for eight hours in one group. Volunteers who suffered from sleep deprivation in another group.

They find that in people who had even one hour of sleep affected. Specific areas of their brain that make sensitive and willing to help others were less active than those who slept soundly.

Similarly, in a third study, experts analyze the data of 100 people. Who slept only a few hours after being awake for three to four nights. While some of them slept several hours a day. But their sleep was not peaceful.

During the same study, experts find that restful sleep is better than restless sleep, which keeps specific parts of the human brain fully activated.

After reviewing the data from all three studies, the experts concluded that overall, lack of sleep makes a person ‘apathetic and self-centered’ and makes them feel less important about social issues and life.

According to experts, lack of sleep has become a ‘global epidemic’ around the world. This is also a reason why we see social problems and tensions around the world.

Experts suggested that humans should have peaceful sleep to improve the society and understand the suffering of humanity.
