The family involved in the incident that took place in a restaurant with Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has apologized.
It may be recalled that Ahsan Iqbal was ridiculed and shouted slogans by a seemingly pro-PTI family at a restaurant located at Bhairah Interchange.
The video, which went viral on social media, shows women and youth chanting anti-government slogans and abusing the minister, while loudly calling him a thief.
Despite the sudden situation, the minister declined to comment immediately.
When the video of the incident went viral on social media, a large number of people criticized the behavior of the family, calling it intolerable and immoral.
Later in a news conference, Ahsan Iqbal had announced that he would not take legal action against these individuals but had left the matter in the court of the people.
He had criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that he had fostered a culture of hatred among the people, just as he was ignorant and insane and was creating followers.
The federal minister said the incident did not affect his popularity but highlighted the culture that Imran Khan was teaching his followers.
Ahsan Iqbal had said that the ‘disease of hatred and division’ in the society is making Pakistan hollow like a cancer.
However, in a tweet today, he said, “The family involved in the incident in Bhaira came to Narowal and met him and apologized for their actions, expressing regret and embarrassment.”
In his tweet, he reiterated that “I have already announced that I will not take legal action against them.”
The minister further said that “we are all Pakistanis and the right to disagree with each other should not be turned into hatred and mutual respect should be maintained.”
