West Indies Lose Second ODI, Pakistan Take Decisive Lead In Series

Pakistan took a decisive lead in the series by defeating West Indies by 120 runs in the second match of the three-match ODI series.

In the match being played at the International Cricket Stadium in Multan, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 275 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

West Indies were given a target of 276 runs to win, after which the visitors were bowled out for 155 in the 33rd over, thus Pakistan won the second match by a huge margin of 120 runs to decide the series 2-0.

Bowling brilliantly for Pakistan, spinner Muhammad Nawaz guided 4 West Indies players to the pavilion.

All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz was awarded Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.

Apart from them, Muhammad Waseem took 3 wickets and league spinner Shadab Khan took 2 wickets.

Earlier, Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam once again played a brilliant game and scored 77 runs.

Young batsman Imam-ul-Haq also continued his strong form and performance of the last match and was prominent by scoring 72 runs in the match played in his hometown.

Besides, Khushdal Shah and Shadab Khan scored 22 and 22 runs respectively.

Pakistani opener Fakhru Zaman was dismissed for 17 and wicket keeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan for 15.

Muhammad Wasim (17) and Shaheen Afridi (15) remained unbeaten.

Aqeel Hussain took 3 wickets for West Indies while Alzari Joseph and Anderson Phillip took 2 wickets each.

It may be recalled that in the first match of the series played two days ago, Pakistan successfully achieved a mountain-like target of 306 runs and defeated West Indies by 5 wickets.
