Former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and former President Asif Ali Zardari’s eldest daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto came out in support of the Sindh government on the current situation in Karachi.
The recent torrential rains in Karachi wreaked havoc in the city and disrupted livelihoods.
Later, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari spoke in support of the provincial government after facing a backlash.
Bakhtawar Bhutto said in a statement released on Twitter that heavy rains and climate change also caused floods in many developed cities of the world.
She said that Karachi was no exception and the rains in Quaid-e-Azam city broke its record due to which the situation deteriorated while the PPP government in Sindh was serving the people and always there to deal with the situation in the city at all times.
Bakhtawar Bhutto has claimed that the Sindh government had already cleared hundreds of drains last month to prepare for the weather.
Comparing the Sindh government with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan governments, Bakhtawar Bhutto further said that KP has sunk, the same is true of Balochistan but it is not in the headlines yet.
She also asked to compare where the Chief Ministers and Ministers of these two provinces were as compared to Karachi in the last 24 hours?
