Lahore Police launch crackdown against PTI workers

Lahore Police launch crackdown against PTI workers and leaders afterward compiling lists holding more than 100 names on Sunday.

Afterward raiding Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence, Lahore police launched a crackdown beside PTI leaders and workers. Police organized lists having names of more than 100 PTI leaders and activists.

The police declared that the divisional superintendent police (SP) will lead the crackdown. Police conducted raids on houses and deras of numerous people. The wanted PTI workers divided into A and B categories in the police lists.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesperson confirmed in a speech that police started raids on the houses of leaders and activists. The spokesperson detailed that raids conducted on the houses of those leaders whose nomination papers examined ahead of the elections.

It additional said that police teams are also raiding the houses of PTI workers who will help the public gathering. The spokesperson demanded that the lists cover the names of around 1,000 people.

The political party asked its workers to be alert and stay in safer locations.

It learned that a raid conducted at the house of Ali Naveed Bhatti – the previous chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Lahore District.

Furthermore, a separate raid conducted at PTI leader Jameel Saleem Advocate in the Township neighborhood of Lahore. In Raiwind’s Maraka area, PTI leader Faisal Elahi arrested by police.

Condemning the crackdowns, PTI leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema appealed that she received reports of a likely grand operation at Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence.

Cheema asked PTI workers throughout the country to be ready for any situation. She said that the government will see the penalties of launching an operation at Zaman Park again.
